As a single mother who raised three daughters, Helen’s dedication to her family is reflected in the remarkable achievements of her children. Brooke is currently the Secretary of Agriculture (USDA) in the Trump Administration. Helen Jr. is the Principal at Glen Rose Intermediate School, and Ann, a distinguished professor in the TCU Business School’s MBA Program is married to the Chancellor of TCU. She is currently establishing the Institute of Energy at Oklahoma State University.
Helen’s decades-long record of service includes experience as a small business owner and entrepreneur, as well as Mayor of Glen Rose, the first Republican Somervell County Commissioner, member of the North Texas Council of Governments Executive Board (representing 16 counties), recipient of the Texas A&M Outstanding Service Award, 4-H Superintendent, and FFA Horse Judging Coach. She brings a wealth of experience and proven leadership to the Texas House of Representatives.
In her freshman year in the Texas House, Kerwin authored 26 bills and co-authored 22, successfully passing 8 bills in both chambers. Kerwin serves on the Culture, Recreation & Tourism and Public Education committees, bringing firsthand experience in local governance and small business to state policymaking. Her legislative priorities include Eliminating Property Taxes, Banning Taxpayer funded lobbying, enacting Term Limits, Securing the Border, protecting local interests, enhancing educational opportunities, supporting rural and agricultural communities, and advancing fiscal responsibility.
Throughout her career, Rep. Kerwin has been known for her straightforward leadership, commitment to conservative values, and active engagement with the residents of her district. Helen has consistently navigated the complexities of governance and has been recognized as a top tier conservative freshman legislator.

MEET KATRINA
Katrina Pierson is a dynamic conservative
leader who has inspired grassroots activists throughout the nation for over a decade. She burst on the national stage on April 15th, 2009, when her inspiring speech at the Dallas Tea Party rally went viral. Her passion and ability to advocate for conservative principles in a compelling way led to frequent appearances on the Fox News Channel, CNN, MSNBC, Newsmax, and across all global news networks. After years of workinghard to advance conservative causes, Katrina stepped up to serve as national spokesperson for President Trumps’s 2016 campaign, earning a reputation for vigorously promoting his conservative policies on issues such as border security, illegal immigration, gun rights, religious liberty, and election integrity.
In 2020, Katrina had the opportunity to engage in a project dear to her heart when she was tapped by President Trump to lead the national coalition program for his reelection campaign. Her efforts resulted in a record-breaking level of support for Trump within minority communities. Her unique background and life experience equipped her to reach new communities and help grow the Republican party.
Born to a single mother who gave birth to her at the age of 15, Katrina grew up in extreme poverty. Her environment was rife with challenges and struggles. Determined to build a better life for herself and her young son, she worked while putting herself through school obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas and went to work in the health care industry.
Katrina is also an entrepreneur who built her own public affairs and crisis consulting firm to help businesses, non-profits and conservative advocacy groups accomplish their goals. Her commitment to public service resulted in her appointment to healthcare and transportation boards by local governments. She also served on the Texas Lieutenant Governor's Advisory Board. Katrina’s efforts to increase civic engagement and bring more people into the political process was officially recognized by proclamation during the 83rd Texas Legislature.
Katrina is a Forney High School graduate. Her son attended Steadham elementary school and Schrade Middle School in Rowlett, Texas.
She lives in Rockwall, Texas.

All Texans are paying rent with taxes and do not own their property! I pledge to continue the fight for the Elimination of Property Taxes so that Texans can own their homes and give less of their money to the government. Last session I filed several versions of EPT legislation, 3 of which were; HB 2220, HB 2743, and HB 4648. There is no issue more important to hard working Texans than EPT. I remain committed until Texans are no longer burdened by endless property taxes. Let YOU, the voter decide to eliminate property taxes forever with a constitutional amendment. TEXANS OVER TAXES!
BAN TAXPAYER FUNDED LOBBYING
Texas taxpayers should never be forced to fund lobbyists who work against their own interests. For far too long, local governments have used your hard-earned dollars to hire Austin lobbyists who push for higher taxes, bigger government, and less accountability.
As your State Representative, I will fight to ban taxpayer-funded lobbying once and for all. Local officials are ELECTED TO REPRESENT YOU not to outsource your voice to special-interest lobbyists on the taxpayers’ dime. I’ll work towards taxpayer money being used for roads, schools, and essential services — not political influence.
TERM LIMITS
Public office should be about service, not self-preservation. When politicians stay in power for decades, they lose touch with the people they were elected to represent. It’s time to RESTORE ACCOUNTABILITY and integrity to our government by enacting term limits for all elected officials in Texas. Texans deserve citizen-legislators who live under the same laws they pass — not career politicians who treat public office as a lifetime entitlement. I will champion term limits so we can end political stagnation, PREVENT CORRUPTION, and return power to the people of Texas by implementing term limits when the chair is vacated.
DEFEND OUR BORDER
Our work on the border is NOT done! Texas is being flooded with deadly fentanyl, targeted by human-trafficking networks, and supported by violent cartels. Last session, I passed three major anti-trafficking bills: HB 3153: requiring background checks so predators cannot work or volunteer in facilities that care for or shelter children. HB 1778: Carried by Rep. Thompson, where I successfully attached an amendment banning predators from being within 1,000 feet of schools and all bus stops. HB 3231/SB 1212: Raises all human-trafficking offenses to a first-degree felony.
Next session, alongside President Trump, We will STOP the flow of fentanyl, protect TEXAS FAMILIES against trafficking, and CONVICT cartel criminals.
BAN PFAS FOREVER CHEMICALS
Forever chemicals, better known as PFAS, are man made toxic chemicals that are in water and soil. THEY ARE INDESTRUCTIBLE. We desperately need clean soil for our farmers so our food is uncontaminated, and pure grasslands for our ranchers so our livestock are not poisoned.
I filed HB 1674, which earned a first ever PFAS hearing in the Texas House, marking a critical step forward in protecting Texans. Texans should never have to worry that their water or their land holds toxic forever chemicals putting their health or future generations health at risk.
If re-elected, I pledge to continue my fight to test for and ultimately BAN PFAS chemicals. Ensure clean water, protect rural landowners, and hold polluters accountable.
